UNY GARUDA TEAM CROSSED FROM MANDALIKA TO INDIA TOWARDS THE DRIVER'S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SHELL ECO-MARATHON 2023

The UNY Garuda Team successfully advanced to the 2023 Drivers' World Championship in Bangalore, India, after becoming runner-up in the Regional Championship. The Drivers' World Championship (DWC) will bring together the 12 best teams around the world from the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, the Europe and Africa region, and the Americas region to compete for speed and efficiency. The UNY Garuda Team will represent the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions from October 10 to 12, 2023.

To continue to DWC, the team had to compete with 75 participants from 13 countries in the Shell Eco-marathon competition in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions. This competition was held from July 4 to 9, 2023, at the Mandalika International Circuit, Lombok.

Apart from winning tickets to India, the team managed to win in several other categories, including second place in the on-track Urban Concept ICE category, second place in the off-track Safety Award, and the top 10 in the battery electric prototype category. This achievement could not be achieved without the prayers and hard work of the team members, guidance from all advisors, as well as support from those closest to them and the sponsors.

The UNY Garuda Team previously represented Indonesia in the same event, namely the 2018 Drivers' World Championship at Elizabeth Queen's Park, London. The hope is that armed with previous experience and new enthusiasm, the team can become a champion at DWC 2023. "We hope to become DWC world champions in India," said Kesit Bayu General Manager.
