LETS FLY HIGH! GARUDA UNY TEAM WINS AGAIN AT KMHE 2023

The Garuda UNY Team has achieved a major victory in the 2023 Car Energy Saving Contest (KMHE) which took place at the Jakarta Formula E Circuit, Ancol, from October 28 to November 3. The competition aims to test fuel efficiency in vehicles. Garuda UNY Team, made up of Yogyakarta State University students, sent two renewable energy-based cars, one of which runs on ethanol and the other on an electric motor. The GUT team managed to overcome 18 challenging corners at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC), which is shaped like a lumping horse and stretches over an area of 35 hectares with a track length of 2.4 kilometers.

The GUT team entered the KMHE with a big goal in mind: to be an agent of change in overcoming the global energy crisis and to participate in the development of energy-efficient automotive technology. They want to contribute to the progress of the Indonesian nation and state with environmentally friendly technology.

Armed with technical excellence, sophisticated strategies, and extraordinary spirit, Garuda UNY Eco Team achieved a spectacular victory in KMHE 2023. Garuda UNY Eco Team I with the Urban concept MPD Etanol class chaired by Irvanda Sri Purwanto, an Automotive Education S1 student, won 1st place with an achievement of 427.7km/L. The MPD Ethanol Urban concept class is a new record achievement at KMHE, originally 270 (achieved at KMHE 2019 which was held at Malang State University.

Garuda UNY Eco Team II with the Urban concept Electric Motor class chaired by D4 Automotive Engine Student, Sultan Muhammad Yusuf was no less spectacular because it won 2nd place with 161.5 km / K achievements. Both cars also made it into the ECO Race and managed to get the 2nd podium of the KMHE 2023 ECO Race for the Electric Car. Garuda UNY Team managed to unite innovation and sustainability in a car powered by renewable energy, especially ethanol and electricity.

This victory is not only an achievement for the team, but also a valuable contribution to the development of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient technologies in Indonesia. GUT proves that with hard work, high passion, and dedication to innovation can achieve more sustainable solutions in future vehicles.
